About Dr. Voorhees //

Craig M. Voorhees, Ph.D | Licensed Psychologist



Dr. Voorhees has had a general practice treating children, adolescents and adults for over 30 years.  His office is located in the St. Anthony’s Medical Building.  He has day, evening and weekend hours.  He treats individuals and families.  His practice includes, but is not limited to, the treatment of anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, phobias, school problems, communication difficulties, sexual abuse, sexual addiction, alcoholism, drug addition, psychosis, situational disturbances, eating disorders, somatoform disorders, hypochondriasis, marriage problems, sexual orientation issues, anger management, sexual dysfunction, work stress, academic failure, Attention Deficit Disorder and Asperger’s Syndrome.

 

He ran a school for Behaviorally Disordered Adolescents for 6 years and was a consultant for the Juvenile Court for over twenty years.  He led group therapy sessions in hospital settings for many years.  He has consulted for eating disorder units, chemical dependency programs, and worked on ICU and stress units in several hospitals.

 

For anxiety conditions, Dr. Voorhees uses cognitive therapy and relaxation training.  He teaches children assertion skills, how to deal with bullying at school,  and how to interact socially with peers.  He helps parents develop a consistent approach to parenting and helps divorced families negotiate that difficult transition. He sees individuals going through divorce to help them to emotionally cope and handle the legal issues. 

 

Dr. Voorhees administers testing for personality, intelligence, Attention Deficit Disorder and Asperger’s assessment.  He does education screening to obtain an I.E.P.  He completes psychological assessments for gastric bypass surgery, cortical implant surgery, etc.
